My role was the assistant to the lead costume designer. My role was to work on the gang member's jackets.

I started by drawing out a teardrop, because that was the design for the gang. I drew two sizes, so the director could chose how big she wanted the teardrops on the jackets. After that, I cut the pattern out. Then I traced the 2 paper teardrops on card-stock paper. I cut out the inside of the tracing.

I picked out blue fabric that was similar to the jackets we were altering. I spray painted using a tan color on the insides of the cut out of the teardrops. I pinned the mockups to the jackets to show the directors the 2 sizes and allowed her to pick.

Choosing the smaller teardrop, I used that pattern and placed it in the middle back of the jacket.

Using the mockup from before, I painted different types of outlines to show the director and let her choose. She chose just a thick baby blue outline.

We added a little swoop at the bottom of the teardrops. I used a sponge brush and lightly pressed around the teardrop.

Finished product!!!

In addition to being the assistant, I also played the roles of Jen and Nakamoto.
