I measured around my head to know the length and I was going to have the width be 4". After cutting the measurements out with muslin, I ironed and folded it twice so the width would only be 2". I sewed down the length and then painted the fabric with silver as a base and used violet for the swirls. I attached an elastic through the ends and sewed the headband together.
